Where to Stay in Amsterdam for Every Budget
Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities in the world. Filled with cute Dutch architecture, beautiful river canals, and more bicycles than there are people (seriously!), it’s hard not to be instantly charmed by this European capital.
However, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the city, it can be hard to know where to stay. That’s why I used my knowledge from living in the Netherlands and put in the work to create this guide on where to stay in Amsterdam with every budget in mind! I included as many centrally-located hotels and hostels as possible so getting around is a breeze.

3. Pulitzer Amsterdam ($666/night)
The Pulitzer Amsterdam is one of the top-rated places for where to stay in Amsterdam, with a current rating of 9.0 on Booking.com. It will give you an authentic Dutch experience staying in one of 25 adjoined 17th and 18th-century canal houses! These houses are so freakin’ adorable and it can’t get much better than a 5-star hotel set inside. The upscale Jansz restaurant in the hotel will also give you a taste of Dutch cuisine with a twist. Plus, the garden is a gorgeous place to recharge. The Anne Frank Museum, Dam Square, and Jordaan neighborhood are all within 15 minutes’ walking distance.
4. Luxury Suites Amsterdam ($689/night)
With a stunning central location along the canals, Luxury Suites Amsterdam is exactly that – pure luxury! Lounge in your 50-90 square yards suite or make a snow angel on the floor of your 10-20 square yards bathroom. You’ve got the space for it! The Rembrandt House Museum and Royal Palace are less than five minutes away walking from this 5-star hotel. This makes it the perfect location for where to stay in Amsterdam. 5. The Dylan Amsterdam ($506/night)
The Dylan Amsterdam is located on one of my favorite canals in all of Amsterdam: the Keizersgracht. It features a blend of European and Asian design. I love its central location just 3 blocks away from both Dam Square and the Anne Frank House! And if you’re a foodie, you will love The Dylan’s Michelin-star restaurant Vinkeles. Made out of an old bakery, this French restaurant features original ovens and exposed brickwork. They describe the restaurant’s design as “avant-garde European design meets Asian minimalism.” They also have a limited number of bicycles for rent for guests!

Get views of traditional Dutch housing and architecture at an affordable price at Hotel The Exchange!
