1. Determine a few of the basics
To figure out where to solo travel in 2019, first, you need to figure out your budget, how long you’ll be gone, and any preferences you might have for the type of trip. This could be a beach trip, an adventure trip, or a hiking trip. The possibilities are endless!
Write these three essential factors down. I’m serious. Write it down now. Keep it on hand for the next steps.
2. Brainstorm the following and write it down:
- Any places or important historical figures you did a project on in school
- Any photos you saw recently that you just couldn’t stop staring at
- Funny-sounding places that make you curious (Djibouti, anyone?)
- Hobbies you have

3. Make a Google search of “bests”
Third, make a Google search based on your preferences from step #1, if you had any, and the brainstorming you did in step #2 to figure out where to solo travel in 2019.
Examples of these searches may be:
- “Best beach destinations”
- “Best places for adventure travel”
- “Best places to zip line”
- “Best destinations for photographers”
- Etc.
Then make a list of what catches your eye.
4. Make a Pinterest search of the same “bests”
Fourth, make all of the same searches, this time on Pinterest. Again, write down what catches your eye.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

5. Plug all of the destinations from steps #3 and #4 into Kiwi flight search engine and find the best options based on your criteria
Though I love Skyscanner and Momondo as much as the next person, Kiwi.com has become my new favorite flight search engine.
Why? Not only does Kiwi allow more travel dates flexibility than any other flight search engine, but you can also search for more than one destination at a time. This is why it’s particularly perfect for figuring out where to solo travel in 2019 when you don’t know where to go.
So go to Kiwi’s website or even use the widget below. Then plug all of the destinations from steps #3 and #4 that caught your eye into Kiwi’s search.
Finally, set any necessary filters according to your budget determined in step #1, the dates or date ranges you’re interested in (you’ll have more functionality with this on Kiwi’s website), air carriers, and any other filters you want at the top of the search.[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]JTNDZGl2JTIwc3R5bGUlM0QlMjJoZWlnaHQlM0ElMjAxNTBweCUyMiUzRSUwQSUzQ2RpdiUyMGlkJTNEJTIyX193aWRnZXQtdGFyZ2V0X18lMjIlMjBkYXRhLWxhbmclM0QlMjJlbi1VUyUyMiUyMGRhdGEtY3VycmVuY3klM0QlMjJ1c2QlMjIlMjBkYXRhLW5ldHdvcmslM0QlMjJjaiUyMiUyMGRhdGEtcGlkJTNEJTIyODk4NDEwMSUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRmRpdiUzRSUwQSUzQ3NjcmlwdCUyMHNyYyUzRCUyMmh0dHBzJTNBJTJGJTJGd3d3Lmtpd2kuY29tJTJGd2lkZ2V0JTJGd2lkZ2V0LmpzJTIyJTNFJTNDJTJGc2NyaXB0JTNFJTBBJTNDJTJGZGl2JTNF[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1549515637521{padding-top: 30px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]
6. Pick the destination that fits your criteria best
Based on your search on Kiwi, pick the destination that best fits your criteria. BAM! Now you know exactly where to solo travel in 2019! Book that flight and don’t look back.
7. Book your accommodation for the first two nights
Plans can change a lot, especially when you solo travel. That’s why I recommend booking only the first two nights of your trip. That way, the beginning of your trip is settled and you don’t have to stress about figuring it out when you get there. But your future schedule will still be wide open for adventure and surprises!
My favorite way to book is through Booking.com. The number one reason that I love Booking.com is that they will often show hostels that don’t appear on Hostelworld and/or don’t have availability on Hostelworld! Overall, Booking.com has the largest selection of places to stay, making them my #1 choice.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1549401049374{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 30px !important;}”]
