Morocco travel has soared in popularity in recent years. It’s no wonder why, with its gorgeous riads, deserts, iconic architecture, and ancient history steeped in culture and tradition. However, Morocco isn’t a country I’d suggest for a solo female traveler. Street harassment can be common in Morocco, even in more touristic destinations, and the culture generally does not respect women the way that women from Western countries are accustomed to. In spite of this, this doesn’t mean you can’t still have a great time in Morocco as a female traveler!
Most women who enjoy their time in Morocco go on a guided Morocco tour run and supervised by locals. Frankly, I’m not much of a tour person, but I agree that a Morocco tour is the best way to go. You’ll get the most bang for your buck in terms of the amount you see and experience during your Morocco trip. But most importantly, you’ll also have safety in numbers with many other (female) travelers around you. This will reduce the likelihood you are harassed and targeted.
